SPELL IT RIGHT CONTEST

5 APRIL 2008

BOULEVARD, KUCHING.

Our shool took part in a Spell-It -Right Competition organised by RHB Bank and the New Straits Times recently.  This was the first time such a competition was held in Sarawak. Our students comprised of Vanessa Yeo, Kimberly Chian, Priscamy Siaman Taylor and Lois Gwyn Peter.  All of them are pupils of Year 6 Arif. Our school managed to get 2nd place in the team event.  The girls won RM 800. Vanessa Yeo emerged as the champion in the individual category.  She won herself a RM 1000.  Vanessa Yeo and the teacher in-charge, Cikgu Nilanthi will be heading to KL in early August for the national level competition. Hopefully it will be a fruitful outcome. Congratulation to Vanessa Yeo and all the best.

CHORAL SPEAKING COMPETITION KUCHING DIVISION

ZONE A

3 APRIL 2008

SK. Green Road took part in the Choral Speaking Competiton Kuching Zone A on the 3rd April 2008.  It was held at the school hall od SK Mejar Jeneral Dato Ibrahim, Kuching.  The team comprised of 35 students of year 5 Arif. The team was accompanied by their teachers incharge Puan Nilanthi and Miss Law Lee Ee.

Jawatankuasa Penghayatan Islam dengan kerjasama Panitia Pendidikan Islam dan Bahasa Arab telah mengadakan Majlis Sambutan Maulidur Rasul bertempat di Dewan SK. Green Road.  Majlis ini melibatkan semua Guru dan AJK PIBG, murid Tahun 3,4,5,6 yang beragama Islam.  Objektif Majlis ini diadakan bertujuan untuk memberi pendedahan kepada murid mengenai sejarah kelahiran dan kepimpinan Rasulullah S.A.W serta mewujudkan kepakaran penghayatan dan amalan nilai murni Islam untuk diamalkan dalam kehidupan seharian.
